Terms of Service

Last updated 1 June 2026 · Effective 6 June 2026

These terms are a contract between you and Badrama Technologies Ltd for your use of SomEdSer. They cover what you can expect from us, what we expect from you, and the limits of our responsibility. Please read them — by using SomEdSer you agree to them.

1. Agreement to these terms

SomEdSer (“Soma Education Service”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by Badrama Technologies Ltd, a company registered in Uganda. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the SomEdSer apps, website and related services (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Who can use SomEdSer

You must be at least 18 years old to use SomEdSer on your own, or a younger student using it with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian. By using the Service you confirm that you meet these requirements and that the information you give us is accurate.

3. Your account

You need an account to create study sets. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly at hello@somedser.com if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

4. The service

SomEdSer lets you upload a document of your notes and generates study material from it — topic summaries, flashcards and a quiz. The Service is currently offered as an early, in-testing release: features may change, behave unexpectedly, or be unavailable from time to time.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the documents you upload and the study sets generated from them (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process and display Your Content solely to operate the Service for you — including sending the extracted text to an AI provider to generate your study set, as described in our Privacy Policy. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we are briefly required to keep by law or in routine backups.

You are responsible for Your Content. You confirm that you have the right to upload it and that doing so does not break the law or infringe anyone else’s rights. Do not upload material you do not have permission to use.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or that you have no right to share;
  • use the Service to harm, harass, or violate the rights of others;
  • attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or its systems;
  • upload malware or attempt to interfere with other users; or
  • use the Service in a way that breaches any applicable law or these Terms.

7. AI-generated content

Study sets are generated by artificial intelligence from the document you provide. They can be incomplete or wrong. SomEdSer is a study aid, not a source of truth, and is not professional, academic, medical, legal or financial advice. Always check the output against your own notes and trusted sources, and use it responsibly and in line with your school’s or institution’s rules.

8. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with (including the AI provider that generates your study sets), and the rights you have. By using the Service you acknowledge that policy.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service running but we do not guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. We may add, change, suspend or remove features, and we may limit or discontinue the Service, at any time. Where reasonable we will give notice of significant changes.

10. Fees

SomEdSer is free to use while it is in testing. If we introduce paid features in future, we will make the terms clear and ask for your agreement before you are charged.

11. Suspension and termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (see how to delete your data). We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. When your account ends, your right to use the Service stops and we will delete or de-identify Your Content as described in our Privacy Policy.

12. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that study sets will be accurate or suitable for any particular purpose.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Badrama Technologies Ltd will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for any loss of data, profits or opportunity, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service — including reliance on AI-generated study material. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda, and the courts of Uganda have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections available to you.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, give more prominent notice. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
